Latest generation of Optimol SRV Test System to be shown in Georgia

The Optimol SRV® 4 is the latest generation of this tribology test platform for measuring and analyzing friction and wear with unprecedented precision. It appeals to the rapidly expanding needs of the oil industry for engine simulation, pre-screening of formulations before rig tests, analysis of tribology systems, and to model virtually any tribo-environment for lubricant development.

The SRV® 4 will be exhibited in Atlanta for the month of November. For more information contact Ricardo Hein at (678) 792 4692 or info@srvtest.com

The unique features of the SRV® 4 include:

Inclination of tribo-contact 0 to 90 degrees: allows for simulation of engine position and analysis of lubricants under extreme conditions.

Friction Signal Analysis (FSA): for an in-depth analysis of the interrelation between friction and sliding speed of each stroke during the test run.

Enlarged block with parallel movement: for high-precision measurement of load and friction in applications such as n-coatings, special greases, and other thin film testing

Electrical Resistance Measurement: for precise analysis of sliding layers and lubrication condition through continual measurements of electrical resistance in the contact zone.

Engine Simulation Module: U-shaped holder for mounting piston ring segments on cylinder liners. There is oil circulation provided and it works at any angle 0º to 90º

Rotational Module: Capability for oscillation and rotation in one test device.

Nano-Wear Measurement (nVCT®): A highly sensitive nano-range wear analysis and measurement technology developed for the SRV® test system.

Discontinuous movement of the oscillation drive for tribo-contacts in which movements are performed very slowly or intermittently (transition from static to sliding friction)

Vario Block: for accommodating customized specimen geometries ranging from 0-50 mm length and widths ranging from 4-40 mm. Heating to 350°C is integrated

Measurement of wear during the test: Continuous monitoring the development of wear in time for determination of low/high wear transitions.
